Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Gary Rowe’s tenure as Commissioner of Corrections has ended. Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Rowe’s last day as head of the Department was May 11, 2023. He served the Department of Correctional Services from April 2019 – May 2023.

Dr. Marc Thomas, whose substantive post is the Deputy Commissioner of Corrections – Rehabilitation and Probation Aftercare Services, has been assigned the interim Commissioner of Corrections.

Mr. Orville Moore, whose substantive post is Chief Probation Aftercare Officer, will act as Deputy Commissioner of Corrections – Rehabilitation and Probation Aftercare Services.

The Department of Correctional Services is grateful for Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Rowe’s four years of solid leadership.
